European Controller
Geneva - Switzerland
The European Controller has responsibility for the finance and accounting functions for the European subsidiaries of the US Company.
Primary Responsibilities:
Overseeing the accounting function.
Prepare and review European operation’s financial statements and financial reporting.
Prepare the budgets and forecasts
Manage cash flow for the European operations.
Develop and maintain appropriate financial and administrative policies
Continually evaluate the financial systems to ensure the European operations are maximizing the capabilities of the systems
Provide responsive service to operational departments including the European Managing Director and managers to assist with understanding of financial results, policies and procedures, etc.
Coordinate all external statutory and other audits for the European operations in accordance with country specific GAAP and maintain list of US GAAP adjustments.
Assist in the performance of due diligence and integration for any European acquisitions.
Recruit, train, supervise and develop department staff as needed.
Coordinate or participate in other projects and perform other duties as directed.
Experience and Qualifications:
5+ Years of relevant finance and accounting experience including audit experience.
2+ Years of supervisory experience
Education Level:
Recognised Degree in accounting, Chartered Accountant or equivalent a plus
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office with Advanced Excel Skills.
Strong financial systems skills (Navision a plus).
Bi-lingual French and English language speaker with fluency in both
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to report directly to remote location
Demonstrated ability to function independently, multi-task and realign priorities as needed.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Travel Requirement: Approximately 25%
