THE OPPORTUNITY: Executive Development Chef
Following success in securing a contract to supply a world class customer with their in-flight service which, over the next 10 years, will comprise over 13 million meals including ready meals, sandwiches and salads we are recruiting for the shining light who will lead the way through new product development, from concept to launch, on behalf of a well established £multi-million turnover chilled food manufacturer.

THE LOCATION: Middlesex

THE PACKAGE: c£50k

THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Business Sector Director: Airlines the main objectives for the successful applicant will be managing the entire product development process, from concept through to launch, across all subcontractors and in other client locations with complete customer presentations for new product ideas. To ensure that blue sky thinking supports the upgraded experience and all other customer requirements.
To meet these objectives the Executive Development Chef will be required to:
• To advise and recommend recipe/product ideas/concepts to Commercial Managers and customers, ensuring products are appropriately costed and necessary agreements are in place for supply.
• Support business development work in the airlines sector with innovative NPD concepts to meet customer requirements.
• Manage the NPD process from product identification to launch with other client sites and subcontractors ensuring the process meets customer requirements.
• To manage a rolling programme of new and existing products at various stages of the NPD cycle.
• To continue pre-/post-launch product maintenance and to ensure recipes are amended as required.
• To initiate innovation ensuring that this meets customer requirements.
• To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with customers and suppliers.
• To ensure that market developments are incorporated into the NPD process
• To maintain all recipes and product information for all products managed at different locations.
• To provide direction and support to the development team, managing and facilitating staff performance and development, ensuring structures and skills are developed to meet changing business requirements.

THE PERSON:
• A self-motivated, commercially aware, classically trained chef with a track record of innovation in development work and building and managing very effective relationships with colleagues and external parties.
• Capable of effectively and efficiently prioritising and organising a challenging workload with multiple products being developed simultaneously across different locations.
• A strong influencer with the drive, creation and innovation to tackle a broad and constantly changing challenging agenda.
• Results focussed, prepared to sets challenging objectives and excel in delivery.
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Packages.
• Prepared to travel and holding a full UK driving licence.
