European Commercial Manager – France & Central Europe

This world leading brand is enjoying explosive growth in the UK and has become the number one brand by volume. Now targeting further expansion in key international markets, central to this are France and Central Europe.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Sales Manager with fluency in French and a progressive career record within branded Food or Non Food consumer markets.

Main responsibilities:
• Full P&L responsibility for France and Poland subsidiaries.
• Prepare and implement cohesive sales plans outlining objectives and growth strategy in key subsidiary territories of France and Poland.
• Drive and motivate third party distributors in Central and Eastern Europe, developing existing relationships and identifying opportunities in new territories.
• Participate and lead buying team meetings with overseas retail chains, key role in identifying and constructing pan-European agreements with multinational chains.
• Lead, coach and mentor a strong international sales team, dealing proactively with training needs.
• Work closely with UK based NPD team to ensure product range provides sufficient point of difference to win initial retailer listing and drive sales out.
• Propose and implement effective promotional calendar in line with new product development roll-out, distribution expansion and annual budget.
• Ensure working capital is maximised through accurate sales forecasting and efficient stock turn through international warehouses.
• Liaise with French and Polish back-office teams to ensure logistic, aftersales and accounting issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Oversee monthly sales & marketing reports together with board level reports and presentations as required.
• Other duties in line with business needs.

Skills, experience and attributes
• Understanding of French retail market preferred
• Fluent French speaker
• Knowledge of pricing structures and margin calculations used in French and pan-European retailers preferred
• Sales/Marketing experience within a Consumer Products business
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good negotiator and confident presenter
• Ability to hit targets and deadlines
• Good analytical problem solving skills
• Self starter and highly motivated
• Passionate and action orientated
• Flexibility towards extensive travel
• Able to work within in a small team
• Previous International experience preferred
• Degree or equivalent
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
