Divisional Finance Director

This Listed Trading and Manufacturing PLC are looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Divisional Finance Director.

This role will partner the Divisional Managing Director, and assist the Senior Management team in strategic and financial leadership. You will be a team player whose management style encourages continuous improvement across the business in areas of control, process efficiency, reporting, and profitability.

Your skills and responsibilities will include:

• Leading the business in cash and working capital control, financial and operational reporting, forecasting, and ensuring action plans and assumptions to achieve the forecasts are sufficiently challenged and supported.

• Strong in financial analysis and modelling, providing financial support and commercial challenge to customer, supplier and operational issues.

• Ensure a strong control environment in all areas of the business, with efficient and effective processes that enhance quality with reduced costs.

• Ensure tax consequences are considered in all major decisions. Legitimately minimising tax liabilities where possible, working with the wider Group Finance function for overall Group benefit.

• Ensure timely compliance with all statutory and Group reporting.

• Work closely with the Board to produce and update the company risk register, and ensure actions are taken to mitigate the risks identified as far as possible.

• You will be insatiably curious - effectively and constructively challenging current methods to devise and implement more effective mechanisms, which will then provide effective information for strategic decision making. This initially applies to reviewing and improving the current costing methods and assumptions.

• Leads an effective IT department, and be able to drive business efficiency through appropriate project management and system improvements.

• Forge strong relationships with externals such as banks, auditors, and other Group companies, including UK head office.

• Coach, lead, mentor and be a role model to the finance team, as well as being a strong team player within the wider Group finance team.

It is required that you are a graduate Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA and previous experience of working in a Manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
