Finance Manager

Investment firm which provides mutual funds, defined contribution pensions, segregated portfolios and multi-manager products outside the US is currently looking for a Finance Manager to join the Finance Team responsible for financial accounting of the UK and Irish legal entities. The team consists of accountants (qualified and part-qualified) responsible for financial accounting and control of the UK parent company and related consolidation accounting and regulatory returns, as it is subject to the consolidated supervision of the FSA.

Role
• Assistance and support to Group finance manager for group consolidations, year end, and audit
• Assist in preparation for the 2008 audit and audit deliverables, helping to maintain a strong relationship with the auditors
• Responsibility for cost allocations to Group companies
• Assistance with FSA returns including capital forecasting
• Assistance with risk analysis and tax planning process
• Assistance with implementing best practice processes and maintenance of controls over the consolidation accounting and reporting
• Contribute to strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate finance input regarding new initiatives
• Ensure transfer pricing flows and documentation are accurate and complete
• Ad hoc reporting and project work as required

Experience and Qualifications
• Good academic degree-level education and qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
• Relevant PQE experience as a Financial Accountant for a group, preferably involving a multi-currency consolidation
• Strong financial reporting (UK GAAP) knowledge and awareness of current accounting issues
• Experience in a blue chip environment with multi-site / Shared Services / devolved finance processing
• Ability to balance monitoring detail and also see bigger picture with regard to financial transactions
• Resilience and an ability to probe and resolve issues
• Fund management or financial services experience is an advantage
• Audit background desirable
• Experience of FSA Regulated environment
• Experience of Hyperion and JDE environments an advantage
