Financial Accountant

Our client is the UK division of a major US Consumer Financial Services company and as a result of continued growth are looking to recruit a key member of their finance team.

You should be a fully/part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant with good commercial acumen and drive to work within a relatively new UK Financial Services subsidiary. Working in small team (initially) reporting to the Finance Director, this is an imperative “hands-on” role within a growing business and a great opportunity to grow within the role and add value to the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Full responsibility for the P& L, Balance Sheet

Responsible for producing monthly management accounts together with variance analysis against budgets and forecasts (i.e. from posted transactions through to finalising the monthly accounts of all entities, journal entries and analysis to preparation and submission of reporting packages to the US head office).

Working with FD and head of businesses to build highly effective and profit focused KPIs for the business e.g. trends, business driver analysis etc.

Managing the cash forecasting requirements

Qualifications and experience

ACA/ACCA/CIMA fully or part qualified accountant with solid accounting experience.

Strong Excel skills to macro and pivot table level

Knowledge of Corporation Tax and VAT

Experience in the finance industry highly desirable

Self motivated, customer oriented and strong influencing skills to build, maintain and drive results.

Understanding of UK/US Gaap and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
