Our client is one of the leading media companies in Europe, operating the leading pay television broadcast service in the UK and Ireland, as well as providing broadband and telephony services.
The overall purpose of this job is to ensure that the weekly and monthly reporting for P&L, cash and the balance sheet for brand, communications, churn and overheads on an accurate and timely basis, and quality information is available for finance and the business. In addition, the role is critical in ensuring proper adherence to SOX requirements. The Financial Controller will be responsible for a team of analysts and accounts assistants. As such, they should demonstrate leadership, manage their team objectives and develop their team to full potential. The FC will also be the key liaison with the team's customers, in Finance and the business and will be expected to seek out efficiencies and ways to improve the quality of output at all times. In addition, they will be expected to identify, develop and maintain process improvements, particularly focussing on the controls environment, improved delivery and quality of information and efficiency.
You will be a qualified accountant with post qualified experience gained in industry. You will have knowledge and experience of management accounting practices including high level variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Ideally, you will also have experience of working with non finance business areas including Marketing and Sales. Essential to the role is your ability to understand complex accounting and translate this into useable, controlled data and the experience to analyse accounts, business KPIs and project appraisals, link operational KPIs to financial performance and communicate financial information to non-financial managers.
