Financial Controller - London Tax Group
City of London - London
Reporting to the Group Finance Partner for the London Tax Group, the role will provide senior level commercial and financial expertise to help drive the firm's strategic objectives. This is a key role operating as part of the groups leadership team, you will lead a team of five and work alongside the Group Finance Partner and 35 Partners to deliver fees which will enable the group to achieve its ambitious growth plans. You will:
•Work with senior leadership team to identify and drive operational areas of improvement and develop clear process for effective client and financial project management
•Help to drive effective resource allocation, utilisation and recovery with business heads
•Manage procurement and supplier relationships both locally and in conjunction with firm wide initiatives
•Work with Partners on cost, billing and debt negotiations with Clients
•Agree targets for cash collection, and monitor debt management and oversee cash collection, credit control and debtor adjustments
•Monitor and review billing and cash collection for both Partners and Managers and help drive performance in this area
•Monitor, manage and report on group specific costs together with Group Finance Partner
•Deliver sound financial and commercial management
•Analysis of monthly management accounts and preparing of key performance indicators for region
•Co-ordinate, analyse and present the results of the financial planning process from Strategic Plan through to budget and forecasts on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Skills & Experience:
•Experience of professional services environment and understanding of financial dynamics of such a business
•Strong written and oral communication skills
•CIMA/ACA Qualified with substantial experience gained in within a complex, demanding, results-focused business
•Commercially astute
•Ability to successfully present and articulate financial information, reports, analysis
•Strong analytical skills, ability to understand and manage complexity
•Experience of managing and driving cash collection, billing and debt management
•Strong relationship and influencing skills – ability to engage and persuade senior level Partners and Clients
•Strong project skills with experience of successfully collaborating with a wide range of leaders across a variety of initiatives and projects
•Confident, assertive, pragmatic approach
•Experience of leading and managing a team to deliver business results
