Financial Director

Major Forwarding and Logistics group with substantial growth and establishing additional operations overseas require a Financial Director with an opportunity to join the Board as Finance Director

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly management accounts for the UK based companies
- Preparation of monthly and annual accounts of overseas companies
- Liaise with auditors for the preparation of annual accounts
- Develop strategic growth plans
- Manage and develop the Finance Team
- All financial transaction, disbursement accounts, debt collection, creditors
- Payroll
- Monitor cash flow and manage company bank accounts
- Prepare periodic financial forecasts
- Oversee the operation and development of IT and phone systems
- Provide financial input to the management team
- Handle various purchases e.g. insurance, cars, stationery
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Health & Safety compliance

The Person

- Recent experience in shipping or freight forwarding industry essential
- Hands on finance professional
- Experience in a multi-site business with overseas operations a must
- Some overseas travel will be required.
- Experience of Multi-freight and Open Accounts
- Knowledge of IT and telecom systems
