Frozen Food Buying Director

Frozen Food Buying Director/Purchasing Director/Procurement Director/Senior Procurement Manager - WORKING FROM HOME - £70k+ - Food client

My client is a large and well-known UK based company specialising in the supply of fresh food into restaurants. They are looking for a Buying Director to assist in expanding their frozen foods department. The candidate will be home based with travel throughout the UK to suppliers.

Responsibilities:
-Manage a team of 2 other purchasing team members
-Manage tenders, supplier relationships, negotiations
-Manage the expansion within procurement of the frozen foods department
-Be extremely passionate and self-motivated in this role
-Understand the procurement requirements of the restaurants and senior stakeholders within the business
-A monthly report illustrating the cash savings achieved
-Organise transport from source of fish, involving LC's, custom clearing in various geographical locations throughout the world
-Work with company's lawyers to set up supply agreements if needs be

Essential skills:
-Must have experience of a Senior Buying Manager role within the food industry, ideally fish
-Ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing a team
-Candidate must be able to establish rapport quickly and build strong relationships worldwide
-Candidate must be highly motivated, professional and work unassisted as this is a stand alone role
-Candidate must be able to work on own initiative, dynamic and driven
-Must have experience of international trade finance, transportation (air sea and land) and category consolidation and unification
-Working knowledge of UCP 600 is desirable
-Thorough understanding, knowledge and experience of sourcing, negotiating contracts, tendering, supplier negotiation
-Should have experience of perishable, short-shelf life goods, ideally frozen
-Will have previous experience on low cost country sourcing (LCC Sourcing)
