The client is part of the Doncasters Group of companies, a world leader and $1.6 Billion organisation involved in the manufacture of precision components and assemblies for the aerospace and industrial gas turbine market as well as other industrial sectors. The group operates from sites across the UK, Continental Europe, USA, Mexico and China and prides itself upon working closely with leading clients such as Boeing, Rolls Royce and Goodrich. This facility has become the “shop window” for the group specifically dealing within the Aerospace sector, with a turnover of circa £42 Million planned for 2009 whilst employing 300 people.
Now, as part of their continued progression they require the expertise of a first class General Manager with a strong background in engineering and operations management. You will lead the management team in striving for world class performance, ensuring that agreed quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements are met at the same time as growing market share with current and new customers.
Key Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Divisional Managing Director in the USA, you will be ultimately responsible for delivering outstanding customer service levels with a high degree of consistency across all customers.
You will lead the management team in striving toward operational excellence, managing the development of new manufacturing capacity, in terms of people and plant, in order to keep pace with and accommodate the sites growth targets.
Growing and improving year on year financial performance will be your aim, through market share development with existing and new customers, as well as an emphasis on cash management through the control of working capital.
Based from their South Yorkshire facility, you will lead the strategy, managing the financial performance of the business within the framework of plans, annual budgets and management accounts.
Key Requirements:
You will be a strong leader with a proven track record of delivering tangible results in both favourable and unfavourable conditions, through creating vision and purpose and instilling integrity and trust among people.
You will have a global outlook and appreciation of different cultures and held at least one significant people management role where you have implemented change affecting large numbers of employees.
Ideally your experience will have come from within the Aerospace Engineering industry, however this is not a prerequisite and applications are invited from similar environments, provided there is evidence in exceeding all other requirements.
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who has the breadth of cross functional experience and gravitas in order to deliver against challenging expectations where opportunities for progression are real.
