General / Plant Manager - Windfarm - Bulgaria

We are working with a global power and distribution business to recruit a new General Manager to work on the commissioning and management of a major new wind farm project in Bulgaria.
This role is to specifically work within our client's Asset Management Division. This business's mission is to maximize the profitability of utility scale wind power projects by providing world-class asset management services to include operations and maintenance, contract administration, project accounting and performance engineering.
The General Manager supports this mission by directing, managing and coordinating the safe and efficient operation of the assigned wind turbine project site(s) or work areas. The General Manager will directly supervise a number of Technicians, or other staff as well as monitor and ensure quality work from subcontractors. Experience of wind power is a benefit but not essential – experience of power plant management would be of equal interest.
Additionally the General Manager is responsible for the commercial relationship with the local energy companies and customers.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Support maintenance and site strategy to ensure reliable performance.
• Responsible for project and contract performance.
• Provide supervision, leadership, coaching, advice and hands on support to all staff to encourage career growth and ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Inform Lead Technicians of all activities taking place in their respective projects.
• Review and ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly work reports for the project sites are submitted in a timely manner.
• Plan, perform, coordinate and/or implement the training and development of all staff.
• Support and promote the employee technical training program as required or assigned.
• Organise scheduled safety meetings and conduct periodic safety audits in all arenas.

• Responsible for the annual budget
To succeed you will need to be:
• Well-versed in safety policies and relevant labour laws within Bulgaria.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Experience of contractual interpretation and management.
• Strong communication skills.
• First class business and numeracy skills.
• You must be a self-starter and able to perform duties with minimal supervision
• Being able to work in a mechanically as well as an electrically oriented environment.
• Bulgarian essential
