General Store Manager, South Wales

A high profile opportunity for this market leading big box retailer as a General Store Manager. This international business is undergoing significant change as it looks to continue driving it’s UK operation forwards in a challenging market.

As General Store Manager you will be the pivotal figure in the success of your store & part of the senior management population that will be key in ensuring the business continues to outperform the competition. Responsible for a management team of c.10 & total headcount in excess of 200, your leadership skills will be critical to your success. In a people focussed business, delivering through your team is an absolute necessity. In addition to leading the team you will be fully P&L accountable for a projected turnover in excess of £25m – meaning high pressured, fast paced decision making on a regular basis.

To be successful in this role you will have a strong track record of delivering in a similar big box environment, managing complexity and reacting to seasonal & market changes will be vital. You will be responsible for making a difference, not just to implement procedure – going into such a high profile site you must have the ambition and potential to work at a regional level within 2 years.
