General Store Manager: Birmingham

In a difficult economic climate there are very few retailers that continue to deliver significant revenue & profit growth within all of their key markets. This is an opportunity to join one of those businesses, coming in as a senior single site manager covering food and non-food, responsible for a turnover of at least £50m per year.

As the General Store Manager you will be 100% accountable for not only delivering against challenging KPI's but also achieveing consistent growth, you will be given autonomy unusually found at this level to approach your role in a strategic & commercial manner. You will be expected to demonstrate a rounded skill set with your key strengths being people management. You must have experience of running a blue chip big box, high volume site and importantly be able to show evidence of high-performance under challenging circumstance.

While the role of GSM is complex and challenging in itself, the real opportunity is where you can be in 18 months from now - joining at this level you will be next in line for a multi-site position which reports into, you may also want to join the project team or possibly central operations, there are multiple options that are clearly laid out for you from day one.

It is clear that to be successful you must be very driven & ambitous, have a flexible approach to your career and most importantly you must have the potential to go on and operate at the next level.
