Global Brand Medical Director

Our clients aim is to discover, develop and successfully market innovative products to prevent and cure diseases, to ease suffering and to enhance the quality of life. To continue with their success they are looking for a highly qualified Medical Director to join their team in Switzerland. As a Medical Director you will take lead of the Global clinical development and medical affairs of one or more brands from Phase II including life cycle management.

The Medical Director will work closely with International Project Teams, for the definition of an aligned brand strategy, lead the International Clinical Team and be responsible for the design, implementation, execution and submission/approval of a clinical program and medical affairs activities to support regulatory and commercial requirements, and to optimize brand value.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead the International Clinical Team and lead clinical representative of the International Project Team
2. Manager Phase II-IV global and local clinical programs designed to obtain registration and market access, and to optimise the brand value during the entire life cycle, in partnership with key stakeholders from both strategic and day-to-day operational perspective.
3. Review and approve clinical documents (e.g., Investigators’ Brochure, protocol, study report, clinical components of regulatory submissions, safety related documents).
4. Provide clinical leadership in interactions with external stakeholders.

Education:
MD required. Advanced knowledge in medical/scientific area required.
Languages: Fluent oral and written English

Experience/Professional requirement:
• 10 years of involvement in drug development spanning clinical activities in Phases II/IV or comparable experience in industry.
• 5 years of demonstrated leadership and accomplishment in all aspects of conducting clinical trials (e.g., planning, executing, reporting and publishing), or section of clinical programs in a global/matrix environment (including remote) in pharmaceutical industry.
• At least 3-4 years of experience in neurology and/or psychiatry, preferably in the field of epilepsy
• 5 years people management experience required, this may include management in a matrix environment. Global people management experience desirable.
• Strong management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Considerable organisational awareness (e.g., inter-relationship of departments, business priorities), including significant experience working cross-functionally and in global teams.
• Medical/scientific and operational expertise appropriate to the program.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and innovation in clinical development study designs that provide relevant evidence to decision-makers.
• Prior history with post-marketing/brand optimization studies to obtain evidence of brand value and support commercialization activities preferred.
