Global Quality Manager

Global Quality Manager - automotive technology systems - Dundee, UK-based, but with frequent European travel - attractive base, bonuses, benefits, and career options

ROLE - Global Quality Manager - reporting to Chief Operating Officer - to implement and manage a robust but flexible quality strategy which supports the aggressive growth plans (manufacturing locations, customers, vendors, revenues), while ensuring quality compliance and continuous quality improvement towards best in class performance


PERSON – higher weighting more important
•10 - Extensive experience as a senior quality manager in a multinational electronic/electrical component/assembly manufacturing environment - must have both high volume and low volume/high-mix experience
•10 - Exceptional knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and practices.
•10 - Problem-solving role model - excellent process/reasoning ability - to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions - solves problems with intangible factors in creative and effective ways - executes/drives resolution of critical issues through effective application of best practices
•10 - Exceptional listening, influencing and communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills.
•10 - Personality - standard-setter, pragmatic, firm but flexible, influential, multi-tasker, strong on process compliance
•10 - Leadership personality - role model, standard-setter, coach, motivator - can confidently convey information and issues, to subordinates, peers and senior management
•10 - Customer passion - demonstrates and drives others to listen to, interpret, and exceed customers' expectations - internal and external
•10 - Results-driven multi-tasker - handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, while maintaining focus on deliverables - ability to quickly move from concept to plan to implementation.
•9 - Previous experience of supplying automotive manufacturing sector would be a real advantage
•9 - Good working knowledge of SPC tools, and ability to apply advance mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
•9 – Computer literate – MS Office, manufacturing control systems, database types and processing applications, etc
•9 – Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field subject - ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• 8 - Good appreciation of LeanSigma methodology, and can demonstrate application of similar thinking/tools - ideally black belt trained
•8 - Commercial acumen - ability to understand and act on business/financial reports and KPIs
•8 - English language a must - German would also be a distinct advantage
•8 - Willing to regularly travel around European (and maybe US) sites , clients, vendors - approx 50%
