Goup Chief Accountant, Global Media Group

Our client is a successful marketing communications group which employs over 14,000 staff in more than 70 countries. The Group has two core disciplines, media communications and market research, which together create a business that operates and integrates across a broad spectrum of marketing activities. It is headquartered in London and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The Group Finance team is responsible for all financial reporting within the Group, both statutory and internal management reporting. There is also typically a significant amount of ad hoc project work. The department is headed by the Director of Financial Reporting, Analysis and Control who reports to the Group CFO.

As well as looking after all aspects of Statutory Accounting, Management Accounting and Internal Reporting, you will also be expected to keep up to date with technical developments, especially in relation to International GAAP, be involved in the personal development and appraisal of members of the Group Finance Team, identify and plan for any training needs within the Group Finance Team.

The successful candidate is likely to be ACA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience of dealing with complex accounting issues. You will have a strong working knowledge of IFRS, commercial awareness and an ability to understand business issues. Excellent systems experience (including Hyperion Essbase/Enterprise) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
