The Client is a substantial multi-billion euro provider of a wide range of products to the B2B and B2C markets. With substantial growth plans and an enviable physical supply chain, the business maintains its market dominance through a passion for continuous improvement, customer excellence and a true commitment to people development.
Reporting to the Group Supply Chain Director and with daily international links to functional and operational colleagues, the job holder will have a substantial and complex remit to refine and deliver world class transportation services through both an in-house fleet and through the substantial use of approved sub contractors. He/she will set and deliver transport policy, strategy and tactical objectives and will ‘champion’ all quality, safety, employee relations, legislation tasks within the function. This is a substantial high profile role where success is the norm – not the aspiration.
Of graduate calibre and ideally with a industry relevant post graduate qualification, you must be able to demonstrate substantial transport management capabilities at a very senior level. It is essential that you will have full European experience of running both own and 3PL fleets. You will be numerate, literate, with excellent IT skills, yet be capable of demonstrating common sense and a passion for people. An inspirational leader and team builder, you will be an invaluable member of the senior board. A second European language will be necessary as will complete freedom of movement on a global basis.
