The Client is a substantial highly profitable multi-million turnover provider of multi modal logistics solutions to a wide range of FMCG and industrial customers. Their service is typified by close attention to detail, to strong customer relationships and to their commitment to people development. The current Board recognises that early succession is an essential part of further growth and diversification and see this person as the ‘heir apparent’.

Working closely with the Board and operational and functional colleagues, the job holder will have specific responsibility for the management of business development and key accounts. He/she will help to turn strategy to tactical objectives and have a full and unencumbered remit to shape the future of the business through new products, services and broader logistics offerings.

Already an accomplished senior development manager, the incumbent will have held commercial responsibility, with proven business development skills. Of graduate calibre, ideal previous experience will have encompassed multi modal familiarity and import/export in deep/short sea environments, but this is not mandatory. The ability to lead, develop and inspire loyal subordinates is a necessity, as is the job holders ability to shape, direct and influence the planned growth agenda.
