Our client represents 1400 independent, not-for-profit housing associations in England and is the voice of affordable housing. Their members provide 2 million affordable homes for 5 million people.
The Commercial Services Directorate is the income generating part of the organisation. Turnover is around £4m - from conferences, training and book sales as well as additional activities such as employee satisfaction surveys, tenants home contents insurance and sales of mailing lists. The role of Head of Business Support is to lead and manage the Sales and Business Support Team in delivering efficient and effective logistical support to the income generating activities of the Federation. The role holder will work collaboratively across the department and organisation to achieve challenging financial targets arising from the business plan. They will ensure high customer care (both internally and externally) through all commercial activities. The Head of Business Services will be responsible for embedding processes and procedures, ensuring they are strictly followed. They will manage change effectively, champion a progressive working environment, build strong relationships with key stakeholders and undertake major corporate projects.
This is a strategic role which requires the holder to represent our client at a senior level to customers and stakeholders. You will lead and be a role-model for others. You must have experience at a senior level within a commercially-focused, customer-facing organisation, experience of working in a conference or training environment with responsibility for logistics, booking and customer service function and have a successful background in leading a team.
