We would like to hear from compliance professionals looking for a empowered organisation where meritocracy is a given and compliance management is regarded as a critical success factor for the business? Our client is an ambitious and agile building society based in the South East of England. The company culture will not be comfortable for anyone focused on ticking boxes and reacting to change. However if you are capable of delivering a proactive, business focused compliance function and managing all the challenges this will entail, then this opportunity will excite you. Be aware that you must be both intellectually capable and operationally effective as this company operates a very flat management structure. You will combine blue sky thinking with the feet on the ground delivery to protect the interests of the Society and its members.


Must Haves
At least 4 years compliance management experience within a financial services environment in which you were responsible for the assurance against risk of sanctions arising out of compliance management shortfalls.
Graduate or equivalent with an appropriate accountancy, audit, financial services or legal qualification relevant to compliance and business risk.
Track record of negotiating and building effective relationships with regulatory and statutory bodies such as the FSA.
Proven ability to influence change as opposed to just reacting to change, motivating others to adopt best practices in respect to compliance issues.
Ability and motivation to build and personally deliver a value added compliance management function - not a cash draining one.
