Head of Design and Engineering: Non Food FMCG - Excellent Salary plus Bonus, Car and Pension, based in the Midlands.
This organisation already has a glowing reputation for its design and innovation when it comes to developing and leading trends within the consumer durables sector. With a turnover exceeding £40million, and a presence in all the major high street retail multiples, the company is looking to maximise its position with the acquisition of a talented Head of Design. As a new position, this will be an integral part of the senior management team and will be responsible for leading the company’s technology, innovation and design teams.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, and working closely with functional colleagues, the main remit for this position will be to develop and progress the product development strategy, taking a fresh and exciting approach to create a market leading product profile. The role requires the constant research and seeking of new ideas, designs, efficiencies and concepts, whilst keeping up to date on market and competitor activities. It will be key to driving new product introduction from design to realisation, translating emerging ideas to tangible solutions. Demonstrating flair and an entrepreneurial spirit, the focus will always be on the bottom line, to deliver a return on investment on new product development costs.
Of graduate calibre and experience in a similar position, this role will require an individual who is self-motivated, resilient, analytical and possesses strong communication and inter-personal skills. You will have an engineering background, experience in R&D, but above all will have the creative flair and drive and commercial awareness to turn creative ideas into reality. You will be ambitious for success and motivated by working in a fast paced, highly pressurised environment.
