CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Head of Enterprise Management Services (EMS) is responsible for running the entire Enterprise Management Function at the Bank which provides a centralised monitoring and CMDB service to Technology and the Business
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit, train and develop the EMS Specialists that comprise the EMS Tools Team
Direct and prioritise the day to day activities of the EMS team to meet the delivery targets of the EMS function
Manage and maintain an appropriate mix of skills within the EMS Team that matches those required to support the deployed EMS toolset
Produce regular management reporting on the activities of the EMS team in line with best practice
Represent the interests of the EMS team in management and project situations, both formally and informally, so that its role and contribution are well understood
KEY CLIENTS (internal & external)
The key clients for EMS are business as usual (BAU) functional heads from within Service Management who require a monitoring and management service. The Head of EMS will also represent EMS at the & with the Wealth Technology Architecture Board. The Head of EMS will be expected to work with the Banks business representatives and Service partners to understand the correlation between Technology and how it consumed by the business defining measureable SLA’s
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Develop and maintain own technical competencies in agreed core set of tools to enable effective direction of the EMS Tools Team’s work in i) configuration ii) incident resolution iii) update deployment and iv) strategic direction
Manage the individual tools in the toolset to an agreed standardised configuration to minimise the support overhead
Develop suitable toolset update and patch review procedures, and apply such patches as appropriate
Plan and manage the implementation of regular version updates to the production toolset
Update and improve the core toolset to reflect ongoing technical and business change

Develop and maintain an effective DR/fallback toolset, properly documented and regularly tested, in line with the Disaster Recovery strategy
Develop and maintain a strategic operational toolset roadmap that
To represent the EMS team on the regular Enterprise Management steering committee, a regular forum comprised of the key EMS clients.
Socialise the strategic roadmap to peers within the Bank, its suppliers and other interested parties
Deliver the roadmap to ensure that its benefits are realised
Continues to develop the integration of monitoring of components, middleware and applications into the toolset
PROFESSIONAL⁄TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Good knowledge of Windows operating system, to system administrator level
Strong knowledge of the two core tools – HP ServiceCenter and IBM Netcool
