Head of Estates Development

You will be responsible for developing an Estates Strategy and then implement the national estates and procurement strategy, ensuring value for money and ensuring that the organisations estate properly meets the needs of the business and its future demands through the use of benchmarking exercises and performance management measures. You will be responsible for the full range of estates activities and management of the property portfolio of some 130 buildings, with an annual running cost of some £45m. This includes responsibility for providing expert estates input into the development of business cases for estate changes and delivering estate rationalisation opportunities where appropriate. You will also have responsibility for liaising with IT Business Partners regarding IT Infrastructure Projects and the impact on the Estates Strategy. We require an Estates Manager who can demonstrate a proven track record or evidence of the ability to deliver estates management services to a dispersed organisation. You will have the ability to manage programmes of work and large contracts to deliver an excellent service to the customer and the ability to manage complex projects successfully, identifying and managing associated risks and issues. You will have a proven track record in leading Corporate Governance functions (with responsibility for the operation of risk management and internal control systems) in a substantial operational organisation and experience of investment appraisal relating to Estates, IT and business opportunities.
