Head of Internal Audit operations and technology

POSITION: Head of Audit, Operations and technology for a global bank ( Wholesale)

£90k to £120k

based in Singapore or London who has global responsibility for a team of approximately 15 for all audits covering IT and operations


• Manages all audit assurance work within Wholesale Banking
• Responsible for communication on audit issues to Wholesale Banking management
• Influences improvements in risk controls and processes across Wholesale Banking
• Manages core team within Wholesale Banking - responsible for appraisal/development/motivation/attraction of quality staff
• Responsible for implementation of risk methodology and quality standards
• Manages relationship with External Auditor on issues to do with Wholesale Banking
• Collective responsibility with other HoAs for delivering programme of improvement to satisfy FSA and for providing programme of quality assurance to the Audit and Risk Committee and management of the Bank

• Group Audit has recently undertaken a review of the function, jointly with PwC. The report is now finalised. The implementation of the recommendations are critical both to drive the function towards best practice and to satisfy the FSA that they can increasingly rely on Group Audit.
• The challenge is to maintain the ongoing audit work, whilst implementing a major change.
• Wholesale Banking is also fast developing new products and businesses. This provides a challenge in terms of how these are audited and in keeping pace with the required technical knowledge.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS / TASKS
The individual will be required to work very closely with the other Heads of Audit so this is operating as one team
• Will be expected to deliver a high quality audit programme which is respected and valued by Wholesale Banking management
• A key influencer of risk process and control improvement within Wholesale Banking
