Head of IS/IT Operations

This Global provider of managed network services, complex hosting (datacentres) and teleconferencing are searching for a Head of European IS/IT Systems Operations to be responsible for the efficient management of all IS, system engineering and IT operations for this well known and highly respected telecommunications service provider.
This client have gown successfully over the last 15 years from a pan European ISP to a leading managed network solutions provider due to an excellent track record of providing managed network solutions to some of the leading brand names around the Globe, with an excellent track record of customer service this is a truly excellent opportunity to use a mix of your operational management experience and capability in IS/IT 1st/first line, 2nd/second line and some 3rd/third line management skills to make an impact on this crucial area of the business.
The Head of IS/IT Systems Operations will be responsible for the efficient management of the UK IS, Engineering Systems and IT Operations for this area of the business (with some European team management), ensuring high quality services and fast and efficient rectification and management of faults. These services are used within the business to deliver services to their customers as well as internal groups and internal users, many of them on a 24 hour 7 days a week basis. This role and the team they are responsible for will be accountable for the service, any ‘in life’ upgrades and transition to operational support.
The Head of IS/IT Systems Operations will establish and ensure the effective operation of the companies Systems Operations on a 24/7 basis and develop processes to measure, manage, standardise and improve the key activities to meet the required SLA’s and agreed levels of service, Ensuring that the Network, Systems and IT architecture are running effectively at all times and that in the event of an outage, every effort is made to restore service as quickly as possible.
Skills and experience;
Must have previous management experience of a Technical Operations team ideally within a service provider or Telecoms background. Candidates must have experience of working in large scale Technology Organisation across a number of technologies (ideally routers/switches network environment, IS/IT and Network Systems). We require someone with knowledge of ISP platforms including Mail, DNS. Radius and a general understand of systems architecture. Experience within large scale deployments of MPLS and ISP Systems is also required. Previous experience in Network or systems engineering is advantageous.
London £65-75k base plus excellent corporate benefits.
