Head of Mechanical Design Office

Leading Aerospace company require an experienced Head of Mechanical Design Office to join their expanding organisation in Hampshire.

This role is to be responsible for Design, Analysis, and Tests activities in the Structure Technical Field. The person will have an expertise in structure design, analysis ad cost. Candidates should hold a good first degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering and have good team leadership and interpersonal skills.

Activities will include organising the team to maintain and develop the technical skills in order to be at the state of the art in the structure domain, ensuring the validation and implementation of tools, standards and processes to improve performance and productivity, defining the necessary CAPEX, benchmarking activities (tools and processes) with other competitors, ensuring work packages fulfilments, etc. etc.

Recognised experience in spacecraft structure design, experience in design, analysis and test on spacecraft structure and experience managing an engineering team in a line or project management role is essential.
