Head of Merchandising - Electricals

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leading international business.
This role is primarily responsible for managing the activities of a team of Merchandisers within a specific number of categories to develop and drive the financial, range and inventory planning processes to maximise profit and mitigate risks. Responsible for working with the Merchandising Director to deliver the seasonal planning, in-season stock management and open to buy processes through effective WSSI control. Working alongside the Head of Trading on the equivalent area they jointly manage the agreed range development critical path and then control activities of their teams to support this within the category. Control the OTB (WSSI) review process and manage the daily trading activities to achieve or surpass the KPI targets for their areas. Manage, coach and develop a team of Merchandisers and Planners in line with the needs of the business. Role reports to Merchandising Director with a key relationship with Head of Trading.
Applicants must have knowledge and experience of a traditional merchandise structure. Educated to degree standard or equivalent, with strong commercial acumen and excellent planning and organisational skills. Candidates must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly numerate and analytical, have a strong knowledge and experience of planning and forecasting tools and principles with the ability to consistently work to tight deadlines under pressure.
Finally you must have strong attention to detail with advanced Excel skills and good experience of operating at Merchandiser level (or equivalent) within a FMCG / fashion or hard goods fast paced retailer and ideally experience of working at a Head of Merchandising position.
