Head of Merchant Acquiring

Our client is a major banking group operating throughout the Central and Eastern European region with a presence in 17 markets throughout the region.
As a result of continued expansion they are currently looking to recruit a senior individual to manage the Merchant Acquiring business across this region.
Job Summary
The position covers the wide support for Acquiring in the bank’s international network. The individual will lead, manage and coordinate the growth of Acquiring business lines through the exchange of best practices, by sharing process expertise and driving initiatives to improve profitability of Acquiring in the various Network bank’s.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Develop an Acquiring strategy for the network banks that have Acquiring lines of business.
• Set-up a monthly monitoring of Acquiring performance and share the benchmarks with the other countries.
• Continuously review profitability of Acquiring in the network banks and work closely with the local product teams to improve or fine-tune the cost/revenue components.
• Coordinate organizational changes in the network banks to separate Acquiring as line of business with its own P/L.
• Enhance regional cooperation, replicate well working business strategies in the selected countries in individual area of responsibility.
Key Skills Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in banking in Acquiring area
• Excellent know how of how to drive the expansion of Acquiring profitably
• What are the components of a successful Merchant-Acquirer relationship
• Cost / Revenue drivers governing the Acquiring business line
• Operations and Risk
• Language skills: excellent command of English
