Head of Operational Services - Electronic Systems
West Sussex - South Central / Coast
One of the UK's leading companies in advanced military electronics systems is expanding its senior management team with the appointment of the Head of Operational Services.
Responsible for Manufacturing Management and reporting to the Operations & Programmes Director.
Principal Relationships:
+ No. of Staff 70 across multiple disciplines.
+ Manage 7 Budgets totalling £3.5m, purchase order placement - 4000 per year and Equipment repairs - 5000 per year
Key Tasks:
+ Provide efficient and effective Supply Chain Management services across: - Product Manufacture, Product Repairs, Sales Order Administration, Production Engineering and Supply Chain Co-ordination.
+ Manage the Supply Chain process for production and repair from order acceptance through to delivery to the customer.
+ Plan and implement strategies for the activities in line with the company Strategic Business Plan.
+ Work closely with the business units and fictional departments to set business strategy.
+ To provide the environment which enables all personnel to engender change and improve performance.
+ Manage the cost centre budgets and improve cost performance.
+ Manage the relationship for outsourced and centralised services inclusive of Test Equipment Hire, Shipping & Stores.
+ Deliver a product forecast management process, which enables Supply Chain strategies to be developed.
+ Contribute to improvement initiatives and influence policy.
+ Jointly develop Supply Chain Strategies with Procurement.
+ Authorise transition from design to manufacture via Production Readiness process.
Education & Qualifications:
+ A business Degree or equivalent experience.
+ Member of Chartered Institute of Management
+ Formal Training in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
+ Proven Track Record of Lean Implementation
