Our Client is a leading manufacturer of industry - leading engineering products for a diverse customer base including automotive, aerospace , construction and electronics, and is committed to innovation and continued growth as part of a pioneering and highly successful $1.1 p.a. t/o global Group.
The $40m p.a. t/o site in the North West is well established with a skilled workforce, many of whom have a long standing service. Under the direction of a forward thinking and highly inspirational Plant Manager, the business is undergoing a major development and culture change programme to improve productivity and reach new targets of operational excellence.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Head of Operations will play a key role in continuing to drive change and further develop the use of Lean tools and techniques- 5S, SMED, TPM etc, whilst maintaining a practical and common sense approach. You will assume responsibility for the leadership, management and motivation of 150 people through a team of Manufacturing, Maintenance, CI , Tool Room and Planning Managers/Team Leaders operating on a multi- shift, 24 hour/5 day production system to improve operational effectiveness, sustain excellent levels of customer service and, most importantly, profitability as the business expands.
An accomplished people manager with a hands-on approach, you will be able to demonstrate a record of operational efficiency improvements, ideally gained within a high volume, batch manufacturing environment. Ideally degree qualified in an Engineering discipline you must be commercially astute with exceptional communication skills and the strength of character to challenge both your team and current thinking in order to advance the business.
