Head of Procurement & Risk

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our client’s existing Risk Management and Procurement Department. The role will encompass working to increase the group’s existing service provision and expand their Risk Management and Procurement strategies and products. You will deliver Risk Management and Procurement solutions to some of the UK's largest energy users, and develop and implement risk indicator limits and hedging strategies. The role will include management responsibility for the entire Risk and Procurement function across the group. This is a superb opportunity to join a dynamic consultancy with an ambitious and progressive management team with significant opportunities for career progression.
The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of the UK energy market, particularly of wholesale markets and Risk Management mechanisms. Outstanding analytical skills, and a strong commercial focus, along with experience of a previous Energy Risk Management role is essential, preferably gained within a consultancy background. Strong people and project management skills are required, as is the ability to lead and drive a department forward whilst developing and identifying new products and opportunities within the market sector. You will be an excellent communicator who is driven, resourceful, innovative and able to work to deadlines and targets. FSA accreditation would be an advantage.
