This FTSE 50 Company is undergoing significant change and is investing heavily in new capabilities across multiple business units.
The Head of Shared Services has a very wide set of responsibilities ranging from support, data centre management, architecture, networking and other area’s. This role is a critical direct report to the CIO and will be a key member of the senior IS leadership team.
The Shared Services organisation is involved in a major transformation to a new operating model that will enable a wider set of services to support rapidly changing business needs. The role will require a strong leader able to transparently communicate across the organisation, manage expectations and lead a wide ranging change programme.
The client is specifically looking for a candidate from the supplier side of the industry. The candidate must have strong experience of the commercial and relationship management of outsourced contracts, proven experience of managing large-scale shared services operations and exceptional people leadership abilities.
Main Responsibilities:
• Oversee the operation of IT infrastructure services (which are predominantly outsourced) to agreed service specifications and within the budgeted cost base.
• Manage the internal teams and lead relationships with the outsource providers including contract negotiations.
• Develop the long-term strategy for Shared Services, taking into account the needs of diverse stakeholders, technology and industry trends, supply-side capabilities and overall corporate IT strategies and standards. The Shared Services strategy will define the future shape, scope, interface points and processes with both customers and suppliers.
• Lead transformation initiatives, to provide radical improvements to service provision and/or cost base.
• Develop and enhance the engagement model with the customer base, aiming towards value-based relationships with customers at both operational and strategic levels.
• Own and manage long-term relationships with suppliers, ensuring that relationships are working effectively across disparate stakeholders and that optimum overall value for the business is obtained from each supply contract.
You must be a UK / EU National or already be resident in the UK and have a current Work Permit.
Qualifying Questions:
Have you spent some of your career in a senior leadership role with a major outsourcing or consulting organisation?
Have you run a large scale multi business unit shared services operation?
Have you managed large scale outsourced operations?
Have you run large scale IT transformation programmes?
Are you eligible to work in the UK?
