A position for a Head of Structural Engineering has arisen for this well-known Engineering Consultancy based in Johannesburg, South African.

This is a new section and department within this organisation and you will be required to provide leadership within the Structural Engineering discipline on a national/international basis and specifically the day-to-day management of the business unit.

In this role you will be required to:

• Provide financial, business development and general leadership
• Ensure company objectives are met
• Develop strategies to achieve agreed growth targets
• Develop a strong and positive image of the company
• Manage and oversee client satisfaction
• Interact with support service departments to ensure the necessary support


To be considered for this role, you should have as a minimum:

• A professionally Chartered Engineer with the ICE or IStrctE or similar.
• Degree qualified - B.Eng / BSc.Eng in Structural Engineering
• At least 10 years experience with Structural Design of tall buildings
• A track record of successful sales, i.e. the ability to attract and secure business


The ideal individual should possess the following attributes:

• Good leadership skills
• Good analytical skills
• Good POLC skills (plan, organise, lead, control)
• A high integrity
• A fresh approach, with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm
• Entrepreneurial, self motivated with a high "adversity quotient" or "AQ"
• Strong communication and persuasive ability
• A willingness to travel to the various regions
• Experience and maturity to relate to diverse groups of people

The total guaranteed annual cost to company package will be highly negotiable based on expertise and experience. An incentive-based performance bonus is also on offer. In addition, a profit sharing incentive scheme is available based on exceeding agreed targets.
