Head of Supplier Management

Our client is a market leader in the Telecommunications and Information Solutions industry and is continuing to expand. This is no ordinary role, as Head of Supplier Management you will be responsible for driving change as this organisation moves forwards into a solutions driven future and therefore offers real challenge, visibility and responsibility as well as the opportunity to make an impact.

The Head of Supplier Management will be responsible for leading change programmes to develop the capability of operational suppliers to deliver and manage in life complex customer solutions with new products and services; you will ensure all changes are made without disruption to existing customers and service levels. You will grow the capabilities of suppliers and be accountable for determining and implementing the evolution strategy to meet the changing demands of customers.

As the business grows and moves into new areas providing complex solutions, you will take time to understand present supplier capabilities and determine what changes are needed and if new capabilities are required to support the introduction of complex solutions built on new produces and services. The Head of Supplier Management is a pivotal role in shaping this Telecoms company’s future offering and success, and because of this there is much potential for career development.

This role requires an innovative individual with the gravitas to be credible at senior level, the ability to think strategically about what’s required of suppliers in relation to the companies’ future objectives and who can also initiate and drive this change and innovation. Candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive experience of supplier development and management in the telecoms sector with strong negotiation skills and a track record of delivering cost effective change, as well as proven experience of managing multiple change programmes.

Applicants must be strong leaders and people managers who have experience of developing their team’s performance, as well as a strong customer and commercial focus and the ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues and suppliers. In addition, exposure to public sector customers would be a real benefit. You will already be working as a Head of Supplier Management / Head of Procurement for a ICT / Communications company.
