Interim IT Consultant/ Project Manager

Rate: £300 to £400 (Interim) + £300-400 per day
This role is with a successful management consulting firm – the successful candidate will be engaged on a large IT Advisory programme for a large blue chip client –start end of February 2010 - 6 months minimum.
This role is with a successful IT advisory consulting company and will involve engagement on an IT rationalisation programme with a major blue chip client. The overall objective of the assignment is to produce a tangible deliverable programme to transform the IT estate by rationalising enterprise applications and infrastructure across the IT estate, and to define and implement processes for effective IT asset management moving forward. The assignment will be for a minimum of 6 months and may well become permanent.
The role will report to the programme manager will take responsibility for project management and day-to-day business engagement with senior level stakeholders with the client. The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT consultant and project manager with considerable experience in large scale technology environments, with exposure to software asset management or application portfolio management scenarios.

• Qualified to degree level
• Well versed in formal project management techniques and have considerable experience of defining and leading technically focussed client focussed assignments
• Knowledge of architecture methodologies, standards, practices, governance, reference patterns and tools
• Understanding of current and future technology, application trends and development life cycles within either energy focussed or regulated business sectors
• Experience of leading the development of technical, application, information and infrastructure strategies and road maps
• Experience of working on core systems selection, architecture, replacement and improvement initiatives as a project manager or technical architect
• Ideally with ITIL service management accreditation or, software asset management specific accreditation and ideally some configuration management or, software asset management experience
