Internal Audit Director, Conglomerate

Our client is a prestigious private group with interests in retail, leisure, healthcare and property. The business has access to significant levels of capital for investment and is actively pursuing acquisitions within the Middle East and further a field. The group are also investing heavily in human capital and internal infrastructure to support the ambitious growth plans. As part of this development, the group has recently appointed a new Vice President of Internal Audit & Risk who is now building a team to assist in the development of a best practise controls environment.

•Working closely with the VP to develop the risk map of the group and establish the audit methodology
•Recruitment, training and development of the new team
•Promoting the activities of the department with line management and building relationships with internal clients
•Ad hoc projects and investigations at the request of management

The preferred candidate is likely to be a qualified accountant with an established track record of success in the internal audit group of a blue chip organisation or as a Senior Manager / Director in the Internal Audit Services group of a “big 4” accountancy firm. Experience within the region is not a prerequisite but the individual must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate is a culturally diverse environment.
