Qualified Accountant required to work as Internal Auditor for FMCG company in West London
Our client is a FTSE 30 group that has consistently been voted one of the countries best employers. The group has an envious record of stable profit growth and it is currently viewing the turbulence in the world market as an acquisition opportunity. The audit and risk functions are fully integrated groups and the approach is cutting edge in terms of corporate governance best practise. The function is highly regarded by line operations and the team is regularly invited to participate in ad hoc projects.
Influences the VP Audit in setting the strategy and managing audit assignments within Europe and some Asian operations
Manages financial and operational audits in all business sectors to identify weaknesses in internal controls and recommend alternative procedures to strengthen them. This process provides the Chief Financial Officer and the Audit Committee with an evaluation of the adequacy of internal controls
Manages the presentation of audit recommendations to all levels of management to secure agreement and commitment to implementation of recommendations
Assesses internal control systems including specialised and high-risk areas in order to provide the business with ideas for improving the control environment
Consults with senior management in areas of responsibility in order to set the audit plan for these areas.
The role will require an experienced Internal Auditor who is currently operating at a Senior Manager grade within a big 4 environment or commerce business. The role will require excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop long-term relationships with the operational management of the group.
