Oversight Manager - Hedge Funds

My client is an international asset management company based in the City, London. We are looking to recruit an Oversight Manager – Hedge Funds on a contract basis.

Contract duration: 6 months
Salary: £500/ day


The Team
The Hedge Fund Oversight (HFO) team manage the key Supplier relationships that provide critical investment operations support to the company’s Hedge Fund business. The team will be focused on the service, control and financial requirements of the company in managing these relationships. They will act as the single point of contact and conduit for flow of information, providing co-ordination for the Supplier in all matters where it does not make sense for the departments and functions to interact directly.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support in the management of the Supplier relationship, with a particular focus on the Supplier’s performance against service levels and trigger points. S/he will also provide first-line support for proactively dealing with escalated events and operational issues that may arise. In addition s/he will be actively involved in developing the service with the main supplier and other external suppliers.

Main Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Front Office, Performance, Alternative Investments, Distribution and Product Development areas, understanding and resolving service performance issues; and taking new initiatives to the Supplier, examining feasibility and considering cost and timing issues
• Work closely with the Compliance, Audit and Risk functions to ensure that the appropriate controls are in place with regard to auditing the services of the Supplier and ensuring compliance with FSA regulations.
• Address and resolve issues regarding services
• Manage and develop the processes and systems for managing the SLAs and trigger points between the company and the Supplier.
• Closely monitor performance against SLAs and take the appropriate action where trigger points are crossed, including administering the service credit regime.
• Produce summary status reports, client/internal presentations for management review meetings and for other meetings relating to the governance of the Supplier, as required.

Skills & Knowledge
• A good understanding of Investment Operations, with a particular emphasis on Hedge Funds
• Show high attention to detail and the ability to work within a structured environment
• Detailed understanding of operations, systems and compliance issues
• Skills in constructing, managing and presenting MI
• A key success factor to this role will be the ability to form strong cross-functional working relationships both within the company and with the Supplier
