IT Project Manager

My client is an international asset management company. We are looking to recruit an IT Project Manager on a permanent basis. The successful candidate must have sound knowledge and experience within an Investment/ Asset Management environment. The work will be mainly based in the City offices in London, but travel to the Swindon office may be required on occasion.

Salary: £70k - £90k basic


The Role
• Work within the Equity and Investment Management Systems team to deliver process and technology changes for the Front Office Fixed Income teams. In particular the role will involve managing the assessment and implementation of a third party solutions and in-house developed tools. The role will also include support for Product/Fund Launches.
• The role will involve the management of the entire Project Management Lifecycle, from project initiation through to project closure.
• The Project Manager will be expected to follow internal project management standards and knowledge and experience of recognised structured software development and project management methodologies is required.
• Manage the identification, resolution and escalation of risks and issues
• Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks and make appropriate adjustments
• Responsible for 5 to 10 staff (including IT, business, contract and third party staff)


Skills & Experience
• Good understanding of Fixed Income products and processes in the investment management environment
• Experience of managing Fixed Income Front Office projects in particular replacement of portfolio management and decision support tools
• Strong project planning & estimating skills that are combined with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Project
• Thorough understanding of software development and the use of different methodologies
• Extensive experience of managing small and medium scale projects in complex business and technology environments
• Experience of managing third party vendors and / or consultants
• Experience in Investment Management packages covering preferable: Blackrock, thinkFolio, Capstone / Latent Zero (Minerva, Tesseract & Sentinel) Socrates, PACE or similarly leading Inv Management systems
