Lead Security Achitect - interim role

My client is a growth-oriented financial services business, based in Southampton, Hampshire. We are looking to recruit a Lead Security Architect for the Business Technology Services (BTS) department on an interim basis.

Rate: £700 - £800/ day

The Role
• To lead the development, maintenance, communication and implementation of the company’s technology strategy and architecture taking into account business strategy, industry direction, technology innovation and input for other areas of BTS and 3rd party delivery partners.
• To ensure new systems development initiatives are aligned and converge to the strategic architecture.

Main Responsibilities
• Development, maintenance, communication and implementation of an integrated technology strategy, architecture and roadmaps for the Security area.
• To be the trusted source of strategic technology expertise and pro-actively provide technology leadership and guidance to business areas, project teams and 3rd party suppliers.
• To operate the technology governance framework to assess all projects and initiatives for ‘fit’ against the technology strategy, architecture and policies, working to resolve non-conformance with the project.
• To liaise and interface with business, business architects and business analysts to ensure that the technology strategy and architecture supports future business strategy and requirements.
• To undertake technology supplier and product selections in conjunction with the business and other areas of BTS.
• To manage a team within Architecture, including day-to-day team management, objective setting, work allocation, planning and mentoring of staff.
• To project manage the processes required to support the architecture function.

Skills & Knowledge
• Extensive understanding across the breadth of IT.
• Evidenced practice of the development and maintenance of IT architecture and IT strategy, with applied understanding at an enterprise level of security architecture.
• Educated to degree standard or equivalent
• Proven track record within a wide variety of IT functions, including systems analysis, development and project management.
• Proven track record of defining solution architectures for large and small developments.
• Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and key regulatory requirements together with an understanding of business processes.
• Knowledge and understanding of business strategy and planning, financial analysis, marketing and operational processes.
