Lead Security Architect - interim/contract role

My client is a growth-oriented financial services business, based in Southampton, Hampshire. We are looking to recruit a Lead Security Architect to define, manage, implement and evangelise a corporate data model, data standards and policies. This role will be on a contract/ interim basis for a minimum period of 3 months.

The successful person will have direct experience managing the strategic architecture function, including: having a vision, understanding the "as-is", defining the strategy and defining the "to-be" estate & roadmaps; and strong demonstrable technology expertise which is highly solution focused.

Rate: £600 - £700/ day

The Role
• To lead the development, maintenance, communication and implementation of the company’s technology strategy and architecture.
• To ensure new systems development initiatives are aligned and converge to the strategic architecture.

Main Responsibilities
• Development, maintenance, communication and implementation of an integrated technology strategy, architecture and roadmaps for the Security area.
• To be the trusted source of strategic technology expertise and pro-actively provide technology leadership and guidance to business areas, project teams and 3rd party suppliers.
• To operate the technology governance framework to assess all projects and initiatives for ‘fit’ against the technology strategy, architecture and policies, working to resolve non-conformance with the project.
• To liaise and interface with business, business architects and business analysts to ensure that the technology strategy and architecture supports future business strategy and requirements.
• To undertake technology supplier and product selections in conjunction with the business and other areas of BTS.
• To manage a team within Architecture, including day-to-day team management, objective setting, work allocation, planning and mentoring of staff.
• To project manage the processes required to support the architecture function.

Skills & Knowledge
• Extensive understanding across the breadth of IT.
• Evidenced practice of the development and maintenance of IT architecture and IT strategy, with applied understanding at an enterprise level of security architecture.
• Educated to degree standard or equivalent
• Proven track record within a wide variety of IT functions, including systems analysis, development and project management.
• Proven track record of defining solution architectures for large and small developments.
• Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and key regulatory requirements together with an understanding of business processes.
• Knowledge and understanding of business strategy and planning, financial analysis, marketing and operational processes.
