Managing Consultant
London - London
Lead, develop and grow management consultancy services within the Transportation market. Provide managerial and thought leadership, lead the strategy for consulting services within the Highways, Rail, Local & Regional Government (Transport) and Aviation markets. Ensure delivery of key financial targets, establish and maintain key client and partner relationships. Promote the Transportation consultancy capability across all business streams.
1. Lead the strategy for consulting services within the Transportation industry within the Business.
2. To undertake business development activity in management consulting services; maintain an active network both internally and externally, lead bidding activity, provide leadership to the markets team.
3. Raise corporate profile positively.
4. Work with the service delivery teams to develop and nurture the core capabilities.
5. Lead & manage the professional development of the Transportation Markets Team, recruit new staff as required, and ensure a progression route for high performers.
6. Develop and promote the offer within Transportation to other parts of the Group, exploiting opportunities for cross-selling and joint business development.
7. Position MMC appropriately within the overall supply chain and develop and maintain strategic partnerships as appropriate. Develop products and services in line with client needs and the wider political landscape in the Transportation sector.
8. Build and maintain strategic client relationships based on the partnership approach and promote a client focused culture throughout the team
9. Contribute to the business plan of the consultancy and the delivery of the overall budget within the wider framework of MMC.
10. To act as a representative on behalf of the Director(s) of MMC as required
Leadership and Managerial Accountabilities
1. To Contribute to the development and success of the MMC business as a whole as a member of the Management Consulting Leadership Team
2. To provide leadership and direction for the business in professional and managerial activities
Educated to degree level or equivalent. In depth knowledge of the current and emerging national policy that is shaping consulting services within the transportation sector. In depth knowledge of the Transportation market supply chain and regulatory arrangements. Understanding of the drivers for improvement in the Transportation market, and the relationship with MMC’s products and services
Awareness of the political and commercial issues to be faced in the management consultancy markets.
Established supply chain and client contacts across a range of sectors
Experience of managing strategic and delivery services within or across the Transportation industry
Management of commercial operations, including business development, contracts, budgeting, sales, client liaison and business growth. Staff leadership and management.
