Senior Consultant - Retail Banking

An international leader in the Financial Services market offering management consultancy services is looking to recruit a Senior Consultant with Retail Banking expertise on a permanent basis. Salary: 52k - 63k + bonus + benefits, e.g. company pension scheme
Location: central London, UK wide client base

We are looking for candidates with experience in the Retail Banking industry who are used to working in a project environment.

The Position:
• Project Delivery - plays an important role in the delivery of projects and programmes at leading Financial Services institutions. Adds significant value to clients by drawing on previous experience and company’s knowledge capital. Has the ability to present findings and make recommendations in a manner that clearly adds value, while acting in a business advisory capacity.
• Sales - Capable of supporting and leading sales meetings and able to demonstrate an awareness of opportunities for new sales.
• Market knowledge and development - Share and bring to bear personal experience and knowledge in support of the development of new and existing service propositions. Responsible for continued development of own knowledge and can demonstrate emerging specialist knowledge in a particular area.
• Client account management – Supports the process for managing client accounts, building relationships with new and existing client contacts over the long term and driving client engagement activity within the business.


The Person:
The candidate will have significant experience working at middle and senior levels within industry and/ or consulting, the majority of which should have been spent working for a retail bank or building society in the UK. During this time s/he will have spent some time working within a project environment.
Alternatively, the candidate will have gained experience in a consulting firm with the majority of time spent with retail financial services clients. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Market and Industry knowledge
It is essential that candidates have deep knowledge of the market, products, processes and systems in Retail Banking. We would expect to see the knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
• Mortgages, credit cards, savings and investments products
• Product propositions and the processes involved in product development and launch
• Distribution and operational strategies
• Understanding of outsourcing and distribution deal management
• Improving sales effectiveness
• Improving operational efficiency
• Customer retention
• Knowledge of the key outsource partners for banking services
