Our client is a leading international marine surveying and technical consultancy, operating from a worldwide network of offices. The company incorporates the world renowned hull and machinery casualty expertise of The Salvage Association, as well as highly respected capability in the P&I, offshore warranty and pre-risk markets.
Our client is part of an international group of companies, employing over 1300 staff, through 64 offices, in 28 companies and with a combined turnover in excess of £120 million.
Due to an internal promotion to a senior group position, a new Managing Director is now sought for the Marine & Offshore Surveys to continue the good profit and turnover growth seen over the last 3 years. The successful candidate will need to provide clear and incisive leadership to drive market development within the marine & offshore insurance and consultancy markets. They are likely to have a strong international profile within the marine or offshore sectors and will be able to demonstrate an excellent track record in business growth and performance improvement.
In addition to the above, candidates should, ideally, be qualified to masters level in a managerial or related discipline and/or be able to demonstrate strong evidence of the competencies associated with the post of MD. Specifically; the ability to provide strong leadership, to build and maintain an effective senior management team, excellent influencing and negotiation skills, the ability to promote a positive performance culture and to flexibly and effectively lead and manage change.
