Managing / Senior Estimator (Civil Engineering)

Our client is one of the leading players in the UK civil engineering markets working on a number of very high profile schemes across a wide range of sectors.
We are working with their Scottish region that have a very stable and financially secure business with a healthy forward order book and an optimistic eye on the future. They are involved in a number of major schemes and plan to continue to develop their business in the future.
Due to an internal appointment and continued growth within their business they want to appoint a Managing / Senior Estimator who will work within their pre contracts and business development team and be responsible for the financial and commercial aspects of all bids in what is a £50Million + business. This is a key role within the business as you will be involved in all tenders in the region and work closely with the planning department and bid managers in ensuring that they secure the right projects with appropriate bids.
Candidates will be very experienced estimators who have worked on large civil engineering projects and who want to work on major projects and also to take on more of a management role, where they will have significant influence on the decision making process with regards to tenders . We need someone who can demonstrate that they have worked on large and complex civil engineering projects (not necessarily in Scotland) and who has the ambition to take on what is an important role within our client’s business. Supporting the bid team on tenders may require some interface with clients from time to time but this is not a sales role.
