Our client is the global market leader in its niche manufacturing and supplying bespoke packaging machines to blue-chip customers worldwide, primarily in the Food & Beverage Industry. With a turnover of £8 million, a team of 55 and profitable trading since an ‘MBO’ 10 years ago this is a genuine success story. The business is financially strong and well positioned for further growth through continued product and customer development in an exciting and growing market place. Due to imminent retirement a new MD is sought to take the business forward to the next level, increase shareholder value and share in the success through partaking of equity.
You will:
– Lead the management team by developing strategies to capitalise on the company’s market-leading position and convert this into profitable business opportunities.
– Have full P&L responsibility for improving profitability through quality controls and cultural approaches that ensure continuous improvement.
– Establish rapid credibility with customers, developing the right relationships and displaying business insight to fuel a proactive sales approach.
– Through the right behaviours and judgment rapidly become established as the leader within the business, laying out your own agenda and approach.
You must have:
– An experienced MD or GM with a proven track record in managing a manufacturing business, ideally in a ‘design and build’ environment, where you have delivered growth, profitability and product development.
– Leadership qualities with well-developed analytical and communication skills and credible experience in sales, leading others, engineering functional areas & P&L accountability.
– A natural leader, able to influence and develop the management team and all employees to deliver change and improvements in working practices while demonstrating sound commercial judgement in line with the needs of a medium sized manufacturing organisation.
– Degree level education in a related discipline is preferred.
