Manufacturing & Operations Manager

Our client is the Largest Distributor, Processor and Installer of glass related products and systems in the UK. With over 140 years of Expertise in glass and glazing our client is committed to its investment in staff, quality business systems and leading edge technology.

They are now looking for a Manufacturing & Operations Manager to drive the manufacturing and operations agenda for the business, applying a clear customer facing approach. They will need to focus clearly on continuous improvement within the business and progressively harmonise activity in order to exploit synergy and extract unnecessary cost. Responsible for the development of a clear and palpable health, safety and quality culture within the business and safe upkeep of all pertinent business assets.

The successful candidate will be a strong character – confident, self-assured and assertive. Our client is looking for a positive thinker with an inquisitive and active mind. They are looking for a visible manager – interacting constantly with their teams, managing by walk-around - never walking past non-conformance!
A well orginised standard setter who can prove they make their team accountable.

The candidate must understand the changing mix of business – increased prioritisation and recognition of internal customers within the plant will be required

- IOSH Managing Safely certified
- Strong numeracy skills and a comprehensive understanding of the P&L of the business
- Strong IT skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
