Mechanical Engineering Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join one of the world’s leading retailers...

You will manage the delivery of strategy and policy for mechanical equipment such as HVAC and CHP within country to provide technical support to property and maintenance teams to enable our stores to meet customer needs. Your time will be split between advising on mechanical engineering project specifics within planning and construction, developing cost management and build for less, innovating new solutions and developments, providing technical support for stores and maintenance in issues that arise and developing mechanical engineering standards and specifications.

You will:
- recommend innovations to design to improve mechanical reliability
- identify opportunities to design solutions to improve the operation to better meet our customer and operational needs
- ensure the store environment has become more comfortable for both customers and staff
- deliver mechanical key performance indicators whilst balancing quality and best value
- identify and deliver cost savings have without compromising safety or the mechanical operation

You are responsible for:
- providing specialist technical support and advice to the country teams on mechanical engineering matters
- working with the Engineering, Maintenance and Energy Manager to design a mechanical engineering strategy for the Country
- setting and implement technical specifications to deliver designs and solutions that are fit for purpose and meet legal requirements
- managing internal and external project teams and advise on individual project specification and technical solutions to meet project targets
- developing world class mechanical engineering solutions
- managing the provision of Lifts so they meet store needs
- working with Format Managers to achieve overall fit out targets
