Mechanical Engineering Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen to work for a true international and diverse retail organisation with a presence throughout the world.
In order to continue with this success we are looking to bring on board a mechanical engineer to come in and oversee the various electrical functions within the retailing outlets. The successful candidate would be responsible for the following:
- Provide specialist technical support and advice to the country teams on mechanical engineering matters
- Work with the Engineering, Maintenance and Energy Manager to design a mechanical engineering strategy for the country
- Set and implement technical specifications to deliver designs and solutions that are fit for purpose and meet legal requirements
- Manage internal and external project teams and advise on individual project specification and technical solutions to meet project targets
- Develop world class mechanical engineering solutions
- Manage the provision of lifts so they meet store needs
- Work with Format Managers to achieve overall fit out targets
- Innovate on design and specifications to make positive change
- Challenge and influence external statutory bodies to external change delivers added value
- Influence change across the company and legislative bodies
To be successful in this role you are likely to possess previous experience within a recognised retailer. Very strong retail and commercial awareness will be a successful attribute in this field. Your track record will demonstrate your strong leadership skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
